Long gone are the days when my sons asked for PAW Patrol Christmas gifts. Now, they want my attention and time. As the holiday season approaches, I find myself pleasantly surprised by my teenage sons' desire to spend time with me. In a world filled with distractions, from social media to video games, it’s heartening to see them prioritize family moments over their usual pastimes.
This shift in their interests has made me reflect on the importance of nurturing our relationships, especially during this busy time of year. The holidays often bring a whirlwind of activities, but the simple act of sharing moments together—whether it’s cooking, watching movies, or playing board games—has become a cherished tradition.
I never imagined that my teens would want to include me in their holiday plans, but this newfound connection is a reminder that even as they grow older, the bonds we create can deepen in unexpected ways. Embracing these moments is a gift I will treasure forever.
